Non-Laser Tattoo Removal Methods

The most common procedure in order to remove tattoos nowadays is laser tattoo removal. But what to do, if you don’t want to undergo this procedure, or just can’t afford it?

Dermabrasion is a surgical procedure. A surgeon will remove the top layers of skin, in order to get to the unwanted tattoo and remove it too. They use specific tools, something like mechanical sander, and local anesthesia is usually applied. This method works better with professional tattoos, non-professional ones may not be completely removed. I also placed here a list of most common problems about dermabrasion:

• Scarring – sometimes more extensive than the tattoo that is removed. A raised or thickened scar can appear three to six months after the tattoo removal.
• Pain – it may even be more painful than the original tattoo was.
• Skin discoloration – because of damage at the site of the removal.
• Infection – which can delay healing and increase your risk of scarring.

 

Tatoo removal cream can also be an option. Easy to buy and apply, and much cheaper than dermabrasion surgery. The prices are in between $50 – $100. The proper effect of the treatment depends on several factors, like your skin type, the tattoo type, color, is it deep under skin and for how long you have it. For visible effect you should wait for even 3-12 months though. Remember, that some balms may turn out to be harmful, especially if they contain TCA, hydroquinone or other acids.

There are also a few DIY tattoo removal procedures, for example dermabrasion may be performed at home, with any abrasive material like pumice stone or sandpaper. But i have to warn you, that they all involve high risk of scarring, infecion, and pain. What is more, you may not be able to remove tattoo after all.

There is one home tattoo removal treatment, developed by a tattoo artist, who wanted to get rid of some of his tattoos (he had his ex’s names tattooed), that I encourage you to check out. It’s completely natural and involves using only common household ingredients, so it’s cheap, and safe. So, if you are to spend ‘a bit’ of money for tattoo removal, why not to try some cheaper and less invasive methods first?

The Choctaw Indians, once one of the largest and most advanced tribes in North America, have mainly been studied as the first victims of removal during the Jacksonian era. After signing the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek in 1830, the great mass of the tribe–about 20,000 of perhaps 25,000–was resettled in what is present-day Oklahoma. What became of the thousands that remained? The history of the Choctaw remaining in Mississippi has been given only scant attention by scholars, and generally it has been forgotten by the public. As this new book points out, several thousand remained on individual land allotments or as itinerant farm workers and continued to follow old customs. Many of mixed-blood abandoned their ancestral ways and were merged into the white community. Some faded into the wilderness. Despite many obstacles, the remnants of this Mississippi Choctaw society endured and in the modern era through federal legislation have been recognized as a society known as the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.
